| Modig´s lathes, universal drills,
milling machines and machining centres are known throughout the world. Their strength is
small series of customer-specific, technically advanced, special machines of a very high
quality. In 1985, came the company´s first CNC-controlled milling machine and, in 1987, Modig was first out with machining centres for high speed machining. With high speed machining it is possible to machine very hard materials with increased precision. At the start in 1987, it was light materials such as brass, copper, aluminium and certain plastics which were machined. Today, the technique has been developed further and excellent results have also been achieved with titanium, incornell, stainless and hardened steel. Within Modig there is a continuous development of the machining technique. Through extensive contacts and close co-operation with customers, researchers and other high tech companies, the aim is clear; Modig shall remain a part of and lead the continued development of high speed machining.
